Greetings My Pretti’s,
I have been sewing up some cozy fall gear this winter. One of the initial pieces I completed and was really excited to sew was a poncho style jacket. Poncho, Cape, whichever you chose, they seem to be all the rage these days. I wanted a loose fitting, toss and go kind of outta garment.
I decided to use Butterick See&Sew Pattern #B6369. A nice quick sew, really great for beginners.
The fabrics (from Joann’s Fabric Stores): gray plaid wool knit with contrasting navy blue woven wool to give the front of the poncho a glam pop!
Once the pieces were cut out, I began sewing right away.
I love the front set-in pockets. Everything is better with pockets.
The fabric combination of fabrics really complimented one another nicely, the blue popped off the gray perfectly.
The fit is comfortable and relaxed. Ah, just what I wanted.
I appreciate the solid back vs. the two tone front.
The collar is perfect for those breezy days.
P.S. I made gloves to match, YAY ME! (Click here for the Dallance Gloves blog post http://prettimodesti.com/sewlong-summer-hello-gloves-season/). Hope you enjoyed, until we sew again My Pretti’s, keep “Embracing the PrettiModesti in YOU!”
