Greetings My Pretti’s!
I am not sure what has gotten into me, but I have been obsessed with denim lately. My obsession have been to sew up some denim pieces to add to my summer wardrobe. Basically, I have sewn up a denim collection. This “collection” has been styled into 4 looks which I will be sharing with you in this and upcoming blogs.
Today I’m going to start with one of my FAVORITE sews. This is a cute top from McCalls pattern #7549. This season flutter, bell, wide sleeves seem to be all the rage. McCall’s #7549 has five different sleeve styles, I used view C.
The light colored denim was purchased from La Finch fabrics end of bolt sale. I wish I caught this fabric before it was all gone, La Finch has such lovely fabric, check them out.
The sleeve petal was made from denim purchased at Joann’s Craft store.
I also whipped up a skirt with the fabric from the Joann’s. A basic straight skirt, with a waistband, 7 inch back zipper, with a flute tier added to the hem line for length. I didn’t use a pattern to make this skirt, I just took my waist and hip measurements and draped it on my dress form.
I love the style of this top; it can be worn casually or dressed up.
This is a GREAT work look!
The flutter of the sleeves gives this top personality.
The final sew turned out rather nicely and I can’t wait to share the remaining looks with you. Stay tuned for more from “Denim Crazed for Days”.If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to stay up to date with blog postings, fabric hauls, tutorials, pattern reviews and much more.
